Sene is rare in his simplicity. He’s not the flashy 90s throwback that Mr. Muthafuckin Exquire or Action Bronson are nor is he purposefully trying to forgo his N.Y. heritage. The debut Brooklynight has a consistent sound that wouldn’t sound too out of place in 1996 or 2001, but holds up perfectly well in 2012. He’s jovial without being silly and pensive without sounding like Killah Priest in “B.I.B.L.E.” An everyman MC with above-average qualities, Sene is an MC focused on good music, plain and simple.
